Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
MONK does not collect, sell or share your personal information. There are no ads, analytics or tracking. Your account details and everything you enter stay on your device.
Information you enter
MONK stores what you enter only on your device. This includes your life rhythms and check-offs, reading plan progress and reflections, memory verses, your prayer list and answered prayers, podcasts and your listening queue, your book list, and your fasting and solitude history.
We never receive this information. It is not sent to us or to any server we run. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, this data is included in that backup under Apple's backup settings and privacy terms.
Your account
When you sign up, MONK saves your first name and email address, or the details Sign in with Apple shares, on your device only. They are not sent to us or to any server we run.
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple handles the sign-in under its own privacy policy and may let you hide your email address. You can delete your account details at any time from the About screen in MONK.
Information we collect
None. MONK does not use analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking tools, and we do not use your data to track you across apps or websites.
Services MONK connects to
Some features contact other services directly from your device. Those services receive the standard information any app or browser sends, such as your IP address, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
Podcast search: when you search for a podcast, your search words are sent to Apple's public podcast directory (iTunes Search).
Podcast feeds and audio: when you add a show or play an episode, MONK downloads the feed and audio from the podcast's publisher or hosting service.
Bible text: Scripture is loaded from the ESV API (Crossway). Your request includes only the passage you open or search for.
Notifications
Reminders, such as the morning prayer reminder and the end of a solitude timer or fast, are scheduled on your device. MONK does not use a notification server. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
Files you import
If you import an OPML file of podcasts, MONK reads it on your device to add the shows. The file is not uploaded anywhere.
Children
MONK is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, deleting MONK removes it. Removing a podcast, book, verse or prayer in the app deletes it from the device right away.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
